Consequence is the electronic music project of Cam McLaren, associated with Exit Records and the Autonomic movement. His albums Live For Never and Test Dream approached drum and bass through an interest in atmosphere, synthesis, and less conventional structures.
For Test Dream, he made a deliberate decision to record without samples so that the material could become a live show. Speaking to fabric ahead of an Exit showcase, he described a setup using Ableton, external controllers, synthesisers, and processing. The performance would involve rearranging and remixing his own music as it unfolded.
His catalogue also extends beyond those albums, including Atrium / Box Rituals on Pushing Red and Injunction / Chamber Music on Tempa. He collaborated with Jubei on Black Hornet for Metalheadz.
