TREi is Trevor Linnell, a drum and bass producer and DJ from Wellington, New Zealand. His catalogue connects the country's production community with British labels, combining club-focused tracks with songs shaped by vocalists and fellow New Zealand artists.
His debut album, Innuendo, appeared on Samurai Music in 2009. The follow-up, Satellites, arrived in 2013 on State of Mind's SOM Music imprint. Its contributors include The Upbeats, State of Mind, singer Thomas Oliver, and MC Tali. Oliver features on Change Your Mind and Running, while Tali appears on Homecoming, giving visitors several routes into the more melodic side of his work.
TREi's association with Viper Recordings began with The Light / Mumbo Jumbo in 2011, followed by releases including Seeds in 2014. His catalogue also extends to Technique Recordings and the Empires EP EP. Those releases show why a single stylistic label is limiting: the albums place harder, rolling drum and bass alongside vocal writing, while the singles give his production a direct club setting. Collaborations are part of that range, rather than a separate chapter of his career.
