Jack Mirror is a British drum and bass producer whose music combines prominent melodies with a firm dancefloor focus. Before launching the project, he had released music as Priority One and worked in music PR in Bristol. Taking time away from that job allowed him to concentrate on a new sound.
He moved back in with his parents and gave himself a year to make the project work. An early demo of Utopia caught Futurebound's attention, beginning a relationship with Viper Recordings. Assimilate appeared on the label's 2019 annual compilation, followed by Utopia / Reset as the new alias took shape.
His writing often starts with a musical idea he wants to keep, even if its first setting does not work. A vocal from an abandoned track eventually found a home on This Lie, featuring Voicians. Reworking material in that way helped him connect the project's melodic ambitions with the demands of a club record.
Further releases included Oculus with Champion and With You, featuring flowanastasia. He also worked with BMotion on Junipero. Across those collaborations, the central interest remains clear: writing drum and bass with a memorable musical identity and enough energy to sit comfortably in a peak-time set.
