TC is a Bristol drum and bass producer, vocalist, and DJ whose records put memorable hooks alongside forceful basslines. His catalogue includes Deep, Where’s My Money, and Do You Rock, with singing and songwriting forming part of his approach rather than simply being added to finished instrumentals. His connection to the music began as a listener: speaking to DJ Mag in 2007, he recalled hearing Roni Size and being drawn into drum and bass.
His debut album, Evolution, arrived through D Style in 2007. TC described it as bringing together material developed over eight years, with the label’s support giving him time to finish the record. That history helps explain an album that joins vocal songs with tracks built for DJs. Flatline became one of the defining records of his early jump-up period, combining its bass and drums with a melodic hook and his own vocal presence.
Independence became another strand of his work through Don’t Play. Its catalogue includes Tap Ho, Do You Rock, and collaborations with Jakes, including Rep and Bass By The Tonne. Alongside recording and performing, TC has developed an interest in studio tools and production methods. His own account of his work connects modern drum and bass with the practical appeal of older equipment: exploring how a sound is made remains part of the music, alongside the question of how it will work in a set.
